The Name: Trinity Lyceum

The name ‘Trinity Lyceum’ conceived in the mystic mind of our great founder, Servant of God,Rt. Rev. Dr. Jerome M. Fernandez, former Bishop of Quilon, is the living legacy of his paternal love, care and farsightedness. He fused the Christian and the Classic as evinced in ‘Trinity’ that signifies-the oneness of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and ‘Lyceum,’ the place where the ancient Athenian master, Aristotle tutored his disciples.

The School Crest
logo

The school crest was designed by our founder patron . The intersecting circles represent the union of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (Pitha, Puthra and Athma inscribed within the circles.) The words Sath, Chith and Anand signify the fullness of Divine Essence, Divine Will and Divine Ecstasy respectively. ‘Holy, Holy, Holy’ is the resonant representation of the incessant chant of the angels praising the Almighty. ‘Om’ inscribed at the centre becomes the befitting blend of the Eastern and the Western, as it implies the oneness of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and indissolubly fused with Sath, Chith and Anand.

INCEPTION & GROWTH:

Trinity Lyceum was founded by the Late Bishop of Quilon, Servant of God, Rt. Rev. Dr. Jerome M. Fernandez on January 5, 1966. Bishop Jerome was a visionary, whose insight and experience contributed a lot to the development of the people of all religious denominations in Kerala. Various educational institutions in Kollam District are the monuments of his committed efforts in the field of education.

The school was started with the lofty intention of giving excellent coaching to the students preparing for priesthood. In the beginning admissions were restricted to the seminarians. Later the portals of Trinity Lyceum were thrown open to all students. At present Trinity Lyceum is a K-12 co-ed school with classes from Kindergarten to standard XII. Being a Catholic institution owned and managed by Rt. Rev. Dr. Paul Antony Mullassery, Bishop of Quilon, admission is open to all.
